About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the interdisciplinary treatment team with patient assessments and goal-directed treatment development
  • Obtain pertinent information from referral sources and assist with facilitating admissions
  • Complete admission assessments except nursing components
  • Ensure compliance with legal admission requirements, including voluntary/involuntary admissions, patients' rights, releases of information, and 5-day release requests
  • Administer and score assessment scales according to protocol
  • Participate in interdisciplinary clinical staffing
  • Develop, review, and revise plans of care for assigned patients
  • Complete required documentation and address patient strengths, impairments, and interventions
  • Create and maintain a safe, caring, nurturing, healing, and educative therapeutic milieu
  • Set behavioral limits according to policies and behavior plans
  • De-escalate patients using CPI techniques
  • Participate in seclusion/restraint application and monitor patients when appropriate
  • Provide supportive care to patients and families
  • Conduct safety rounds and assist with conflict resolution
  • Provide group and individual therapies, educational sessions, structured groups, and psychoeducational groups
  • Apply brief therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy models
  • Incorporate Recovery principles into therapeutic interventions
  • Document interventions using DAR format
  • Recognize and report abuse/neglect as required by law
  • Provide situational 1:1 interventions and facilitate patient learning
  • Engage patients in community meetings and answer programming and progress questions from parents/significant others
  • Assist with Performance Improvement activities and customer satisfaction initiatives
  • Generate ideas to improve processes, treatment, and patient care
  • Participate in Root Cause Analyses and develop and implement action plans
  • Serve on unit-based and hospital-based committees
  • Precept new employees
  • Follow assignments from the Program Manager or unit committees
  • Volunteer for assignments designed to implement needed changes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months
  • Advanced English reading skills
  • Advanced English writing skills
  • Advanced English oral skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately to customers and co-workers
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or decline to reveal information
  • Ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser applications
  • Comfortable using Windows OS and learning new applications
