About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor
- Design plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans
- Adjust care based on patient response and available evidence
- Educate patients, family members, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers
- Evaluate clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes of care
- Perform examinations using methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening results, and history
- Screen patients to determine the effectiveness of and need for therapy services
- Use support personnel according to legal and ethical standards
- Monitor care delivered by support personnel and provide regular feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to perform patient transfers safely with appropriate body mechanics
- Ability to design and adjust plans of care based on patient response and available evidence
- Ability to educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers
- Ability to evaluate clinical findings and determine diagnoses and outcomes of care
- Ability to perform examinations using reliable and valid methods
- Ability to screen patients to determine therapy effectiveness and need
- Ability to use and monitor support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines
