About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet and welcome patients, visitors, Carle team members, customers and employees
  • Provide directions and wayfinding assistance throughout the Carle complex and community
  • Transport patients and visitors by wheelchair or on foot when appropriate
  • Screen patients and guests and explain access restrictions empathetically
  • Refer patients and guests to physicians, appointments and departments
  • Check in and print badges for inpatient visitors and other personnel
  • Respond to ambulatory and procedural department transport requests
  • Use the EMR to provide appointment or location information
  • Provide telephone assistance
  • Retrieve wheelchairs from all areas
  • Explain infection prevention, visitor and support person guidelines
  • Maintain knowledge of physicians, specialty areas and visitor guidelines
  • Contribute to customer service excellence and patient-centered care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Customer service work experience
  • Ability to work four 6-hour night shifts weekly, midnight–6am
  • Weekend availability for alternating weekends
  • Availability for three observed holidays annually, alternating
  • Ability to follow infection control and visitor guidelines
  • Carle Health work authorization verification through E-Verify and Form I-9
