About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
  • Identify patients and perform patient check-in/check-out
  • Post charges and manage cash
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Register patients and set up accounts
  • Handle phone calls and messages for physicians, nurses, and others
  • Accurately and promptly report medical information from patients and referring physicians
  • Manage patient care requests related to in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming calls
  • Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Conduct oneself in a responsible and professional manner

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in a related field, or experience in lieu of education
  • Basic computer skills
  • General office equipment proficiency
  • Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
  • Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
  • Competency to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Full-time availability for 5 eight-hour shifts weekly
  • Ability to work varying schedules between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
