About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
- Identify patients and perform patient check-in/check-out
- Post charges and manage cash
- Schedule patient appointments
- Register patients and set up accounts
- Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and distribute messages according to communication standards
- Accurately report medical information from patients and referring physicians
- Manage patient care requests involving in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming telephone calls
- Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Conduct oneself in a responsible and professional manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree: Related Field
- Experience in lieu of education is stated, but no minimum work-experience duration is specified
- Competency with telephone systems
- Accurate, complete, and timely reporting of medical information
- Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
- Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
- Competency initiating and securing prior authorizations as needed
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
- Must satisfy work-authorization verification requirements through Form I-9 and E-Verify
