About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
- Identify patients and perform patient check-in/check-out
- Post charges and manage cash
- Schedule patient appointments
- Register patients and set up accounts
- Make and manage phone calls and messages
- Accurately and promptly report medical information from patients and referring physicians
- Distribute messages according to practice communication standards
- Manage incoming patient care requests, in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming telephone calls
- Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Conduct oneself in a responsible, professional manner
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in a related field or experience in lieu of education
- Basic computer skills
- General office equipment proficiency
- Competency with telephone systems
- Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
- Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
- Ability to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Ability to work 5 eight-hour shifts weekly, with schedules varying between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Work authorization verification through Form I-9 and E-Verify
