About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
- Identify patients and perform patient check-in and check-out
- Post charges and manage cash
- Schedule patient appointments
- Register patients and set up accounts
- Handle phone calls and distribute messages according to practice communication standards
- Manage patient care requests related to in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming calls
- Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Maintain a responsible and professional demeanor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proficient with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
- Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
- Competent to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Competent in telephone systems
- Ability to accurately, completely, and promptly report medical information
- Full-time availability for a day shift, Monday through Friday, 9–6
- Availability for two weekend shifts and holidays as needed
- On-call availability
