Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
Identify patients and manage patient check-in/check-out
Post charges and manage cash
Schedule patient appointments
Register patients and set up accounts
Make and manage phone calls and messages
Take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses, and others
Distribute messages according to practice communication standards
Manage incoming patient care requests related to in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming calls
Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
Conduct oneself in a responsible and professional manner

What you’ll need

Associate's Degree
Basic computer skills
General office equipment proficiency
Competence with telephone systems
Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
Ability to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
Ability to accurately, completely, and promptly report medical information
Ability to manage in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming telephone calls
