About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
  • Identify patients and perform patient check-in and check-out
  • Post charges and manage cash
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Register patients and set up accounts
  • Make and manage phone calls
  • Take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses, and others
  • Accurately, completely, and promptly report medical information obtained from patients and referring physicians
  • Distribute messages according to practice communication standards
  • Manage incoming patient care requests related to in-basket activities, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming telephone calls
  • Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Conduct oneself in a responsible and professional manner

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree
  • Basic computer skills
  • General office equipment proficiency
  • Competency with telephone systems
  • Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
  • Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
  • Competency to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • Work authorization verification through E-Verify and Form I-9
