About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors
- Serve as a liaison between patients/families/visitors and healthcare team members
- Address questions and provide non-medical information
- Communicate empathetically and provide opportunities for questions
- Report and help resolve patient and family concerns
- Consult healthcare team members and provide updates to patients and families
- Answer, screen, and route telephone calls
- Make, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Support digital patient communications through MyUnityPoint, text, and other channels
- Gather, verify, and enter demographic and insurance information into patient accounting and electronic health record systems
- Assist with charge capture and billing accuracy
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily receivable activity
- Open and close the clinic according to guidelines
- Collaborate with support services to maintain a clean, welcoming environment
- Attend clinic/department meetings and monitor organizational communications
- Protect confidential health information and comply with HIPAA
- Improve quality and customer service
- Perform other duties requested by the Clinic Administrator
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in a related field or experience in lieu of education
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines
- Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures
- Behave consistently with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance
- Work Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Participate in day shift work
- Work authorization verification through E-Verify
