About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation
  • Identify patients and perform patient check-in/check-out
  • Post charges and manage cash
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Register patients and set up accounts
  • Handle phone calls and operate the telephone system
  • Take and deliver messages to physicians, nurses, and others
  • Distribute messages according to practice communication standards
  • Manage incoming patient care requests, referrals, work queue activity, and incoming telephone calls
  • Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Conduct oneself in a responsible, professional manner

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree in a related field
  • Basic computer skills
  • General office equipment proficiency
  • Proficiency with insurance coverage rules, including eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
  • Successful completion of mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers
  • Ability to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
  • Ability to accurately and completely report medical information in a timely manner
  • Full-time availability, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
