About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee operations and development of the behavioral health workforce program
  • Manage, hire, supervise, and evaluate program team members across different disciplines
  • Establish standards of practice and recommend ways to increase organizational and statewide support capacity
  • Use innovative, evidence-based, and community-identified strategies to support team members and meet projected program deliverables
  • Maintain knowledge of behavioral health workforce trends, developments, and emerging practices
  • Assess workforce service gaps and develop programs and training to meet programmatic and grant sub-award needs
  • Support and train program providers throughout the organization on behavioral health workforce development
  • Complete required program and organizational documentation
  • Monitor and assess team performance and ensure high-quality, evidence-based service delivery
  • Provide clinical supervision to program staff as required by certification and licensing boards
  • Create and maintain onboarding and training materials
  • Develop and implement training, ongoing education, and professional development
  • Promote recovery, employment, self-sufficiency, education, health, and community integration
  • Monitor staff performance, ethical practice, training needs, documentation, and service delivery compliance
  • Represent the agency in the community and participate in external peer stakeholder meetings
  • Advocate for effective recovery-based services
  • Assist the Executive Director in identifying service gaps and implementing recruitment, training, and retention strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • 3+ years of clinical substance abuse treatment experience
  • 3+ years of behavioral health leadership experience
  • 2+ years of program development experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience in the behavioral health field, including clinical practice, program management, and leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of mental health and substance abuse disorders, treatment modalities, and best practices
