Key responsibilities & impact

Assist Radiology Technologist with room turnover, patient transport, stocking rooms, and paperwork
Safely transport patients and supplies/items as directed
Perform transportation duties independently with little or no direct supervision
Maintain and coordinate patient flow for efficient and expedient patient care
Perform department maintenance duties to ensure a clean, efficient department
Perform support functions of the medical imaging department
Assist technologists with departmental tasks
Clean all equipment in the radiology department
Assist patients in the radiology department
Answer department phone calls
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must comply with current National Patient Safety Goals
Must understand correct patient identifiers
Must follow proper hand sanitizing procedures
Must use proper lifting techniques when moving patients
Must use proper BSI technique when handling and transporting specimens/medications
Must accept direction from nursing staff for patient care guidance
Must notify floor staff when taking a patient off the floor
Must perform transportation duties independently with little or no direct supervision
Must evaluate patient transportation needs and request additional help when needed
Must safely transport patients, supplies, specimens, medications, records, equipment, and miscellaneous items
