About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assume responsibility for a group of patients during a designated time frame
  • Provide patient care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and available resources
  • Perform unit-specific responsibilities and procedures
  • Maintain accurate nursing-care documentation for the healthcare team
  • Complete admission assessments and develop, implement, and continuously modify patient care plans
  • Report or correct patient and employee safety hazards and incidents
  • Communicate with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive professional feedback
  • Identify learning needs and initiate appropriate development activities
  • Prepare patients for digestive health procedures, including assessment, health-history review, IV initiation, and education
  • Monitor and sedate patients during procedures
  • Care for patients in phase 1 and phase 2 recovery
  • Assist the CRNA during cases requiring anesthesia involvement
  • Define, direct, supervise, and evaluate patient care directly and through delegation
  • Serve as a department leader and may work as Charge RN

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Certificate of Completion in Nursing
  • Work experience in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) professional nursing qualifications implied by the role
  • Fulfill all departmental competency requirements
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8- or 9-hour day shifts with set days off
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call participation per rotation
  • Participate in patient preparation, assessment, IV initiation, patient education, procedural monitoring and sedation, recovery care, and anesthesia assistance
