Provide and manage patient care through the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary team
Promote evidence-based practice through assessment, care planning, interventions, evaluation, and documentation
Develop individualized plans of care collaboratively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
Assess patient status through interviews, observation, and physical assessment
Complete patient charts, event reports, bedside lab testing, and quality control procedures
Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot problems
Coordinate interdisciplinary care from admission through discharge
Prioritize assignments and manage non-complex and some complex patient care
Delegate tasks appropriately and provide goal-focused shift reports
Advocate for patients with physicians and collaborate with healthcare team members
Educate patients and families using age-specific, culturally appropriate teaching strategies
Ensure patient safety and follow hospital policies, procedures, and National Patient Safety Goals
Participate in data collection, analysis, audits, process improvement initiatives, and patient satisfaction efforts
Serve on unit-based councils and implement changes based on literature and improvement outcomes

What you’ll need

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
College Diploma: Nursing
Must work night shift: 3, 12 hr/week, 7p-7:30a
Weekend requirements: every third weekend
Holiday requirements: rotation
On-call requirements: 2–4 hour shifts per 6 week pay period
