About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Clinical Education team with orientation and onboarding, competency management, education, role development, collaborative partnerships, and research/evidence-based practice/quality improvement
  • Collect and analyze educational-needs data, issues, trends, and supporting information
  • Determine organizational needs, identify desired outcomes, and establish plans with strategies, alternatives, and resources
  • Coordinate education initiatives and activities
  • Promote positive learning and practice environments
  • Provide consultation to influence plans
  • Evaluate progress toward expected outcomes
  • Assist with planning or presenting in-service programs
  • Develop, implement, and annually update the Learning System
  • Train new staff on the Learning System
  • Develop reports for Managers/Directors on staff participation and completion of required tests
  • Mentor and guide unit, department, and system educators
  • Apply evidence-based nursing and education interventions
  • Develop context-specific programs based on stakeholder and learner values, goals, evidence, and regulations
  • Promote generation and dissemination of new knowledge and evidence-based clinical practice
  • Facilitate training on new products, policies, and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) — Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days — American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year — American Heart Association (AHA)
  • National Nursing Certification within 2 years
  • Advanced knowledge of nursing
  • Experience using the educational design process
  • Knowledge of learning and behavioral change theories
  • Ability to perform needs assessments and identify practice gaps
  • Ability to design and deliver education sessions
  • Ability to evaluate learner response and patient-care outcomes
