About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and deploy an indirect procurement sourcing strategy
- Build and execute a sourcing roadmap supporting internal stakeholders and optimizing company cost and terms
- Lead the Indirect category as the single point of accountability for service, quality, cost, and performance
- Partner with Warehouse Operations, Technology, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Compliance, HR, and other departments
- Conduct business reviews with internal stakeholders and suppliers to monitor goals, identify issues and opportunities, and understand category trends
- Own and maintain a comprehensive database of active contracts, including renewal dates, payment terms, contacts, and business owners
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract terms and conditions, including liability, indemnification, termination, SLAs, and auto-renewal clauses
- Implement category and sourcing strategies and expand the supplier network
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and execute cost-savings initiatives
- Develop engaged supplier and category expert partnerships
- Generate monthly and/or quarterly performance reports and analyze key metrics
- Benchmark and implement sourcing best practices, processes, and tools
- Manage complex strategic sourcing projects, including requirements gathering, vendor screening, RFP/RFI preparation and execution, negotiations, supplier relationship management, and contract development and execution
- Oversee more than $15M in annual spend across capital expenditures, corporate and warehouse contracts, and third-party contractors domestically and globally
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience required
- 5+ years of indirect procurement experience required
- Proven track record negotiating a high volume of complex contracts simultaneously, including pricing, payment terms, and terms and conditions
- Skilled in negotiation techniques
- Knowledge of applicable purchasing laws, regulations, and ethical issues
- Experience in category management, supplier segmentation, contract negotiation, commercial agreements, supplier relationship management, and supplier scorecard management
- Experience in a supply chain or technology environment highly desirable
- Excellent end-to-end project management skills
- Competencies and knowledge in contract development, especially IT contracts, including key contracting principles and standard terms
- Effective verbal and written business communication with all levels of the workforce, including senior leadership and executive management
- Exceptional problem solving, strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical, ambiguity management, and risk management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment and fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort reviewing contract fine print under tight timelines
- Prior direct people leadership experience a plus
- Lean/sigma training and experience highly desirable
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
