About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation scheduling, offer documentation, and systems setup
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure a seamless and welcoming Day 1 experience
- Maintain and improve onboarding materials, checklists, and workflows
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and culture-building activities
- Serve as a visible, approachable resource for employees across all organizational levels
- Back up general office and facilities needs, including supply restocking and mail handling
- Support HR programs including performance management, learning and development, and benefits open enrollment
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Technology, Marketing, and other departments on HR programs
- Contribute to HR policies, procedures, and training materials
- Use AI tools and HR technology to streamline workflows and improve employee experience
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure data integrity
- Process promotions, transfers, and terminations with proper documentation
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California requirements
- Respond to employee inquiries about HR policies, benefits, and general HR matters
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and ad hoc projects
- Support the CHRO, VP, and Director of HR with administrative duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field required
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or related HR role
- Exposure to full-cycle HR functions including onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compliance
- Experience working in a multi-department or cross-functional environment strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, and drive tasks to completion with minimal direction
- High degree of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with an HRIS platform is a plus
- Willingness to adopt AI tools, automation, and emerging HR technology
- Knowledge of California employment law and HR compliance best practices preferred
- Professional discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or related certification a plus, not required
