About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform MRI procedures under the clinical direction of a Radiologist and administrative direction of the Imaging Services Manager
  • Maintain equipment and supplies
  • Obtain consent for contrast injection and allergy history as necessary
  • Review pertinent patient information, medical records, requisitions, and procedures with patients and physicians
  • Transfer and position patients according to protocol
  • Administer contrast material as requested and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions
  • Select appropriate techniques and protocols to obtain optimal data
  • Perform scans, review exam data for quality, and complete post-processing
  • Film, archive, and send images to remote locations using the hospital network
  • Recognize and alert the Radiologist to unexpected findings
  • Perform daily equipment calibration and quality assurance checks
  • Clean equipment and perform minor maintenance
  • Notify service and the Imaging Services Manager of system problems
  • Maintain injectors and monitors
  • Order and maintain supplies
  • Instruct hospital staff on safety around high-field-strength magnets
  • Fill in for individuals taking planned or unplanned time off

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology or MRI program
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certificate required
  • RT(R) or ARMRIT certification required
  • Current BLS certification
  • MRI certification RT(R)(MR) preferred or must be obtained within the first 6 months of hire
  • NV State radiology license required if working in another modality with ionizing radiation (DX, CT, IR, M)
  • Minimum of two years’ experience on a high-field magnet
  • Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, patients, and administrative staff in a courteous and professional manner
