About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Product Design team and help build the next version of Carwow
Work with the VP of Product and Product and Engineering leaders to define the future Carwow experience
Shape product vision for customers and dealers
Design and improve experiences for both sides of Carwow’s two-sided marketplace
Connect discovery, buying and selling experiences across web and app
Connect and improve the dealer experience
Raise the quality, simplicity and usefulness of Carwow products
Set high design standards while staying close to the work
Lead, coach and develop Product Designers
Hire new designers when needed and create an environment for excellent work
Talk to customers and dealers, review work, challenge thinking and engage with difficult product problems
Work with Product and Analytics to understand design performance and test assumptions
Use data and experimentation to improve the experience
Explore how AI can improve products and design workflows
Establish a shared vision across customer and dealer experiences
Drive measurable improvements in user experiences and outcomes
Improve design quality and consistency and strengthen the design team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience leading Product Design in a strong digital product business
Strong product judgement and care deeply about design craft
Ability to make complicated things feel simple
Experience designing for a marketplace, platform or similarly complex product with different user types
Understanding of the different challenges of designing for consumers and professional tools
Ability to balance the needs of customers and dealers
Ability to partner effectively with Product and Engineering
Experience using AI in real products
Good judgement about where AI genuinely improves the experience
Automotive experience is not required
