About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end workforce and capability planning
- Partner with and challenge the Exec on required capabilities, timing and whether hiring is the right solution
- Translate workforce needs into Carwow's talent acquisition strategy, headcount plan and budget
- Connect talent acquisition planning to broader workforce planning and succession
- Build senior stakeholder relationships and translate talent needs into hiring plans
- Act as a trusted advisor on hiring strategy and organisational design
- Lead and directly influence senior and business-critical searches, including Exec-level hiring
- Raise talent calibre through consistent scorecards, structured interviews and quality-of-hire tracking
- Build talent intelligence capability by mapping critical and emerging skill pools
- Lead, coach and develop the talent acquisition team
- Set expectations and foster ownership and continuous improvement
- Adapt team capacity and structure as the business scales
- Own the use of AI across sourcing, process and productivity
- Evolve assessment and hiring approaches as required skills change
- Own employer brand and candidate-facing presence with the Employee Experience team
- Implement and embed DEI strategy within talent acquisition
- Ensure inclusive hiring practices throughout the recruitment process
- Upskill hiring managers on job specifications and structured, bias-aware interviews
- Take on projects supporting wider leadership-team priorities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience leading a talent acquisition function in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment, ideally including significant periods of organisational change
- Experience building, leading and developing high-performing talent teams
- Strong people management and coaching skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Experience influencing senior leadership and translating business needs into talent plans
- Data-driven approach; comfortable building and using dashboards and metrics such as time to hire, cost per hire and quality of hire
- Expert-level knowledge of AI tools and their application to talent acquisition
- Hands-on experience implementing DEI strategy within hiring
- Track record of embedding inclusive practices into recruitment processes
- Experience owning senior, business-critical or Exec-level searches
- Experience owning employer brand and candidate experience
- Experience partnering with People/Employee Experience functions
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity with evolving structures and shifting priorities
- Ability to balance long-term strategy with short-term delivery
