About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead data science initiatives from problem framing through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Build robust, scalable, and production-ready ML and AI solutions
- Design and build LLM-powered solutions for document processing, intelligent search, content understanding, and operational challenges
- Apply classical ML and GenAI to pricing, marketing efficiency, demand signals, personalised recommendations, and document verification
- Connect data science work to revenue, efficiency, customer outcomes, and commercial decisions
- Prototype and experiment rapidly using rigorous success metrics
- Work with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Finance, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Translate ambiguous business problems into structured, end-to-end solutions
- Communicate findings and actionable narratives to technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to data science best practices, documentation, and ways of working
- Support the growth of junior team members
- Drive adoption of AI capabilities for efficiencies and automation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Commercial mindset and ability to connect models to revenue, efficiency, or customer outcomes
- Proven ability to work with commercial, marketing, and product stakeholders
- Ability to translate business problems into well-scoped solutions
- Clear communication of technical solutions, challenges, and outcomes
- Sound judgement in selecting classical ML, GenAI, or simpler solutions
- Strong instincts for scalability, reliability, and explainability
- Strong track record of building, deploying, and maintaining ML models in Python in production environments
- Experience delivering the full MLOps lifecycle, including model training, versioning, monitoring, and champion/challenger experimentation
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered solutions with measurable business value
- Experience in a cloud ML environment
- Software engineering principles including version control, code reviews, unit testing, and containerisation
- Strong foundation in statistical evaluation and experiment design
- Python and SQL
- Experience with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, Docker, GitHub, Vertex AI Pipelines, Kubeflow, Gemini API, and Claude API
- Marketplace or two-sided platform experience is a bonus
- Experience with VertexAI is a bonus
