About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and operate CI/CD pipelines used by every engineering team
- Build and maintain observability and monitoring tooling for production debugging
- Build local development environment tooling for production-like conditions
- Identify and resolve infrastructure friction at its root
- Debug complex issues spanning CI/CD, observability tooling, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure
- Contribute to the platform roadmap and backlog
- Build and maintain a paved road for Cast AI engineers to deploy and operate services
- Support internal engineering teams through platform tools serving hundreds of engineers and dozens of services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean abstractions, maintainable code, and architectural justification
- Production experience with Go strongly preferred; candidates without Go should demonstrate strong systems programming skills in a comparable language
- Experience building and operating platform engineering systems, including most of CI/CD and GitOps systems, infrastructure as code, container orchestration, observability and monitoring tooling, and cloud platforms
- Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows
- Personally driven a complex project end-to-end
- Strong debugging, optimization, and performance-tuning skills
- Strong English skills, verbal and written
- Startup mindset; adaptable, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity
- Participation in on-call rotation for teams that require it
- No visa sponsorship or work permit provided
- Nice to have: Kubernetes operators, Helm chart authoring, admission webhooks
- Nice to have: Internal developer platform design, including golden paths, self-service tooling, and service catalogs
- Nice to have: Local development environment tooling such as devcontainers, Tilt, or Skaffold
- Nice to have: Kubernetes or cloud-native OSS contributions
