About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete a multi-phase Accelerated Leadership Development Program
- Participate in three rotational assignments, including areas such as New Technology Validation, Autonomy Design, Product Electrification, Product Value Chain Design, Strategic Procurement, Lean Innovation, Manufacturing Operations, and Field Assignment
- Receive mentorship from a senior Caterpillar Executive
- Participate in intentional leadership development and experiential learning opportunities
- Complete a 12–18 month assignment
- Contribute to an inclusive, constructive, and productive work environment
- Recognize and value team members’ contributions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently attending a 2-year accredited university/college MBA program
- Completed an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science Degree
- Expected graduation by August 2027
- Must be willing to travel and relocate domestically
- Analytical skills, initiating ideas, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
- Knowledge of engineering principles, theory, and engineering experience gained through projects, internships, and/or relevant work experiences
- Fundamental understanding of engineering for a manufacturing environment
- Ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to quickly gain and effectively apply new skills and knowledge
- Ability to collaborate with others of diverse cultures, interpersonal styles, and abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on experience through campus design or competition teams, or similar hands-on technical projects
- Demonstrated leadership in team settings or project management roles
- Previous technical internship, co-op, or other relevant professional experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
