About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide platform stability and production support for Caterpillar’s autonomy-focused platform
- Respond to and manage production incidents impacting AWS/cloud services and APIs
- Own incident tickets through triage, resolution, and closure
- Collaborate with engineering, platform, product, and operations teams to diagnose issues and coordinate fixes
- Lead or contribute to root cause analysis and track follow-up actions
- Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, security, and operational best practices
- Drive reliability, stability, and operational-readiness improvements across cloud platforms
- Understand end-to-end technical and business flows supporting production services
- Develop, maintain, and improve actionable operational runbooks
- Lead knowledge-transfer sessions to prepare support teams for production support
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between Caterpillar platform teams, product partners, and support organizations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong troubleshooting skills analyzing cloud applications, APIs, integrations, and data pipelines using logging, monitoring, and observability tools
- Hands-on experience with AWS monitoring and observability tools, including Amazon CloudWatch, OpenSearch/Kibana, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, and ThousandEyes
- Experience supporting production-grade, customer-facing platforms on AWS/cloud environments
- Experience with incident response, on-call support, monitoring, and operational reliability across distributed teams
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting languages
- Experience with API testing/clients such as Bruno, Postman, and curl
- Strong experience managing incidents end-to-end using ServiceNow within enterprise ITSM frameworks
- Proven ability to drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Experience leveraging AI/automation tooling such as agentic workflows, GitHub Copilot, and MCP
- Ability to trace issues to source code and CI/CD pipelines across distributed services
- Strong communication skills for translating technical issues into clear status and impact updates
- Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, runbooks, support processes, tooling, and documentation
- Ability to complete a drug screen successfully as a condition of employment
