About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of commissioning engineers supporting large-scale natural gas power generation projects across the United States
  • Plan and coordinate commissioning resources, schedules, and field activities
  • Partner with project managers, customers, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers
  • Oversee installation audits, system startup, testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation of engine-generator packages and supporting systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and company standards
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, technical reports, punch lists, and project deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, labor utilization, and commercial performance
  • Support reporting, invoicing, and change management activities
  • Provide technical leadership and resolve complex commissioning and operational challenges
  • Maintain exceptional customer relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineering degree, technical diploma, marine engineering certification, or equivalent technical experience
  • Progressive leadership experience within commissioning, field service, or startup operations in power generation, oil and gas, marine propulsion, or a similar industrial environment
  • Experience leading technical teams, managing complex field operations, developing employees, and maintaining accountability for safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance
  • Progressive hands-on experience in commissioning or service engineering involving medium-speed or high-speed natural gas or diesel reciprocating engines
  • Knowledge of customer focus and customer solution practices
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques
  • Effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
  • Problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques
  • Relationship management techniques
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required customer, site, or U.S. Government security clearances
  • Ability to work 5 days a week in the Fort Worth or Houston, Texas office
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the United States and Canada, with occasional travel to Germany
  • Successful completion of a drug screen
