Provide technical leadership in the design, development and deployment of Caterpillar’s digital platform
Build a world-class platform to host a wide range of digital applications
Lead engineers and provide technical guidance
Design, develop, deploy and maintain software at scale
Create product plans, resource and scope estimates and feature technical specifications with leads
Participate in competency development to ensure best-fit, high-quality technical solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

14+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale
Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies and cloud-based environments
Experience leading engineers and providing technical guidance
Expert knowledge of JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, Spring, JUnit and JSON
Expertise in REST/JSON web services
Strong knowledge of Java design patterns
At least 3 years of deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as Azure
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of application architectural patterns such as MVC, microservices and event-driven architecture
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Azure DevOps and Confluence
Experience working within an Agile framework, ideally Scrum
Experience designing well-defined RESTful APIs
Experience writing API proxies on platforms such as Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway or Azure API Manager
Hands-on experience with Swagger, Postman and Assertible
Experience with test-driven development and behavior-driven development
Hands-on experience with Cucumber and CI/CD pipeline integration
Experience using mocking frameworks and unit test frameworks
Expertise writing and debugging multi-threaded applications
Strong analytical skills
Solid knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design
Experience creating product plans, resource and scope estimates and feature technical specifications
Knowledge of OAuth and JSON Web Token
Advanced knowledge of security and cybersecurity best practices
Strong understanding of approaches and techniques for optimizing web performance
