About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead portfolio management activities for Deputy CISO level organizations, including investment prioritization, resource planning, executive reporting, and strategic planning processes
  • Develop and maintain visibility into the Cybersecurity portfolio, including project status, resource allocation, budget performance, risks, and business outcomes
  • Partner with Cybersecurity leaders on strategic planning, annual operating plans, investment prioritization, and execution tracking
  • Evaluate organizational program plans and develop strategies to ensure projects are cohesive and aligned with organizational goals
  • Evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and align investments with organizational priorities and business outcomes
  • Hire, develop, and manage project and program managers, including internal staff and external contractors
  • Collaborate with Cyber teams using a disciplined project management approach and coach them on project-related roles and responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 Caterpillar and external consultants responsible for portfolio governance, project delivery, financial management, and operational excellence
  • Lead budget, finance, and execution for the Cybersecurity Organization
  • Ensure high-quality forecasting and execution of Cybersecurity spend
  • Leverage information security investments to enhance business, administration, and compliance processes
  • Lead complex, high-impact, or volatile contract negotiations
  • Optimize processes for evaluating and selecting products, tools, services, and infrastructure components
  • Review contracts for compliance with organizational and legal policies and procedures
  • Translate complex technical or operational information into concise, executive-ready communications
  • Present, facilitate, build trusted partnerships, influence outcomes, navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience managing organizational budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and financial planning activities
  • Experience leading a PMO, portfolio management office, business operations function, or similar governance organization
  • Understanding of information security and the relationship between threat, vulnerability, and information value in the context of risk management
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • High level analytical skills
  • Exceptional relationship management competencies
  • Relevant project management work experience with a demonstrated record to lead and execute information security compliance and risk mitigation programs
  • Experience working in a large, global organization
  • Experience developing executive-level reporting and presentations
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity or risk-management frameworks
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams with strategic planning, governance, operating reviews, and investment decisions
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, Lean, or similar project management certification
  • One or more active certifications: CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP or CFE
  • Sponsorship is not available
  • Successful completion of a drug screen required
