About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the Product Health Engineering lead for Caterpillar G3500 gensets operating in Oil & Gas applications
- Act as the primary technical interface between customers, dealers, account management teams, and engineering organizations
- Understand, document, and resolve product performance and reliability concerns
- Investigate customer-reported engine issues by analyzing field data, identifying root causes, and coordinating corrective actions
- Drive priority and completion of high-impact Continuous Product Improvement projects
- Improve product reliability, durability, and customer satisfaction
- Provide regular CPI updates and technical overviews to product groups, commercial organizations, and senior leadership
- Present technical findings, corrective action plans, and product improvement status to customers and dealer organizations
- Build and maintain customer relationships through proactive technical support and issue resolution
- Travel to customer sites to evaluate product performance and investigate emerging concerns
- Identify future product improvement opportunities
- Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus as a technical advisor for Oil & Gas genset applications
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience with large equipment/power systems
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate customer and dealer relationships
- Oil & Gas industry experience
- Experience across multiple product lines, including large engines, transmissions, well service pumps, motors, controls, or power generation
- Prior experience in dealer/customer-facing positions
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Oil and Gas industry experience in a technical support role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with varied disciplines, including engineering, customers, dealers, product support, operations, and marketing
- Up to 10% global travel required
- Must work onsite five days a week
- Sponsorship is not available for this position
- Successful completion of a drug screen required
