About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform manual and exploratory testing of web and mobile applications across platforms, devices, and browsers
Validate functional, integration, sanity, and regression requirements
Review acceptance criteria and translate requirements into comprehensive test cases and scenarios
Participate in test planning, execution, and release validation activities
Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites using Playwright and WebDriverIO
Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps
Collaborate with developers and product owners to resolve issues quickly
Drive continuous improvement of test processes, automation coverage, visual regression testing practices, and overall product quality
Contribute to manual and automated testing throughout the software development lifecycle
Partner with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
Travel up to 5%

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience in software testing or a related field
Strong manual testing skills
Knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools and techniques
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of software development tools and activities
Knowledge of the software development life cycle
Knowledge of software product design and architecture
Knowledge of technical aspects of software products
Knowledge of software product testing
Knowledge of system and software testing
Experience testing web and mobile applications, including accessibility validation and awareness of accessibility standards
Hands-on experience with Playwright, WebDriverIO, Sauce Labs, or similar cloud-based devices and browser testing platforms
Working knowledge of JavaScript and object-oriented programming concepts
Experience with Git/GitHub
Experience with automated test execution within CI/CD pipelines
Experience using Azure DevOps or similar defect tracking and test management solutions
Strong interest in AI-assisted testing techniques
Must be in Chicago, Illinois or Peoria, Illinois

Willingness to travel up to 5%
