About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and evolve enterprise-scale data architecture for Caterpillar’s digital ecosystem
Lead end-to-end solution architectures on Cat Digital’s data platform
Drive trusted, interoperable data products with a focus on data object reusability
Partner with engineering and product teams to accelerate time-to-data-value for data consumers
Develop detailed data architecture deliverables to solve business problems
Design data solutions including system-to-system data flows, conceptual data models, and logical data models
Lead evaluation and deployment of new solutions to add or enhance data product capabilities
Address business requirements for applications
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver digital and data solutions
Work onsite five days a week

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive knowledge of data architecture processes, techniques, and factors affecting data architecture
Ability to design blueprints for integrating data resources for business processes and functional support
Extensive knowledge of analytical techniques and tools
Ability to determine root causes and create alternative solutions
Extensive experience with effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
Extensive knowledge of requirements analysis tools, methods, and techniques
Ability to elicit, analyze, and record business functionality and non-functionality requirements
Knowledge of target architecture and ability to develop IT blueprints and roadmaps aligned with business strategies
Extensive data modeling experience
Experience designing or architecting cloud-based solutions using AWS or Azure
ETL knowledge preferred
Snowflake knowledge preferred
Semantic modeling experience preferred
Candidate must be in Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL
Visa sponsorship is not available
Up to 5% travel required
Successful completion of a drug screen required for employment
