About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect large-scale applications and produce high- and low-level designs
- Design and develop distributed, highly available web applications using Java/J2EE
- Develop microservices using Spring Boot/Spring MVC
- Modernize legacy application components using current frameworks, architectures, and design patterns
- Manage source code through CI/CD pipelines
- Implement application security, shift-left practices, and vulnerability remediation
- Perform programming, project management, and development assignments independently
- Resolve complex application and technical problems, including off-shift and weekend support
- Drive application development focused on valuable business features
- Establish software quality practices and coding guidelines
- Identify team growth and improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with end users and internal customers on development, debugging, testing, and issue resolution
- Perform integrated and customer acceptance testing
- Provide technical solutions and architecture aligned with business requirements
- Optimize application performance using caching and other solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- More than 14 years of application development experience
- Experience architecting large-scale applications and producing high- and low-level designs
- Core Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/Spring Data JPA, Spring WebFlux, Spring Modulith, OpenAPI, Liquibase/Flyway
- JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React/Angular frameworks
- Microservices with Spring Boot/Spring MVC in multithreaded, distributed environments
- Distributed, highly available, reliable web applications using Java/J2EE
- Kafka and event-driven architecture; SQS and Pub/Sub models
- AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and AI/GenAI automation
- Docker/Kubernetes and containerized architectures
- Git, GitLab, GitHub, or Azure Repos
- JUnit, Mockito, Bruno, and unit testing
- AWS cloud services including CloudFormation, ECS Fargate, RDS, ALB, Lambda, S3, ElastiCache, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Grafana/Prometheus/CloudWatch, and API Gateway
- Vulnerability remediation and automated security measures
- Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, JFrog Artifactory, and modern web security practices
- REST, GraphQL, and gRPC
- Familiarity with at least two databases, such as DB2 and PostgreSQL
- Basic Java/J2EE hosting networking concepts including load balancing, DNS, HTTP, and SSL/TLS
- Ability to work onsite in the office five days per week
