About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and evolve the Rental Data Model strategy across Caterpillar and dealer networks
- Bridge rental business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating business requirements into scalable digital solutions
- Define and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog for rental data and dealer integrations
- Establish common definitions, standards, and business rules for rental entities including equipment, customers, contracts, rates, invoices, jobsites, and fleet operations
- Drive alignment on how rental data is captured, interpreted, and used across the digital ecosystem
- Lead dealer onboarding and integration initiatives
- Identify business challenges, operational inefficiencies, and data gaps and define value-generating solutions
- Analyze rental, customer, equipment, and dealer data to identify trends, opportunities, data-quality issues, and integration gaps
- Use data and analytics to validate requirements, investigate production issues, support decisions, and measure outcomes
- Provide rental business context to engineering teams and support solution design
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders on data requirements, standards, governance, and evolving needs
- Validate data accuracy and integrity through analysis, reconciliation, and root-cause investigations
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across dealer systems and enterprise platforms
- Advocate for rental-business priorities throughout product development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of business analysis and the tasks, techniques, and tools required to identify business needs and recommend solutions
- Knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools and techniques
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, tasks, tools, and techniques
- Experience working in cross-functional environments involving business stakeholders, engineering teams, data teams, and external partners
- Experience working with complex datasets and data models
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases, data warehouses, or modern cloud-based data platforms
- Experience using analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Explorer
- Experience performing data validation, root cause analysis, data reconciliation, and cross-system troubleshooting
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and data exchange concepts
- Knowledge of data-driven products and digital platforms
- Experience in equipment rental, dealer operations, construction equipment, or related domains
- Understanding of rental lifecycle processes, including fleet management, reservations, contracts, billing, invoicing, equipment utilization, and customer operations
- Experience defining business rules, data concepts, and process standards for enterprise-scale digital products
- Experience leading dealer-facing initiatives, business process transformation, or enterprise integration programs
- CSPO or similar Product Management certification preferred
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Successful completion of a drug screen is required
