About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Transform engineering and product-performance data into actionable insights supporting New Product Introduction, Continuous Product Improvement, field issue investigations, condition-monitoring development, and product-support engineering
Analyze engineering and product-performance data
Support Continuous Product Improvement, New Product Introduction, and field-investigation requests
Work from engineering requests submitted through the team’s ticketing process
Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify analytical requirements
Develop, code, document, deploy, and hand off condition-monitoring content
Identify potential equipment failure signatures using telematics and engineering data
Collaborate with internal engineering partners, industry stakeholders, and global team members
Communicate and collaborate with India-based team members, including occasional early-morning meetings
Learn and apply team procedures and quality-check processes
Support small projects and lead appropriate projects with coaching from experienced team members
Develop a condition-monitoring failure model and complete it for handoff to Cat Digital for deployment
Communicate analytical findings and prepare reports and documentation for engineering and product-support decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Engineering-based education and/or relevant engineering experience
Ability to perform engineering data analysis
Ability to distinguish valid and invalid engineering data using mechanical-system understanding
Capability to work within a product-support and engineering-analysis environment
Interest in coding and analytics
Strong communication capability
Python experience preferred
SQL experience preferred
Engine knowledge beyond the basic understanding required for the role preferred
Mechanical-system knowledge preferred
A mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering background preferred
Hands-on equipment experience preferred
Project leadership capability preferred
Ability to participate in occasional early-morning or non-standard work-hour meetings

Successful completion of a drug screen required
