About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical consultancy for AI data center and large-scale power system architectures
- Support business development activities, customer presentations, project pursuits, and execution
- Oversee power system simulation studies, including grid connection, transient stability, dynamic performance, and site-level analyses
- Collaborate with EPD, LPSD, IDES, Solar Turbines, and other Caterpillar divisions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the Prime Power Customer Solutions team
- Act as a subject matter expert on prime power applications, grid integration, grid code compliance, and power system performance
- Represent Caterpillar in discussions with certification bodies, utilities, consultants, customers, and industry organizations
- Develop best practices, tools, methodologies, engineering processes, workflows, and technical standards
- Oversee complex engineering studies and customer engagements while coordinating cross-functional resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree required; Electrical background preferred
- Expert knowledge of electric power systems, including prime power and grid-connected applications
- Ability to provide technical consultancy on architecture development, performance, and significant technical challenges
- Expert knowledge of power system modelling, simulation tools, and engineering analysis techniques
- Ability to lead, validate, analyze, and apply simulation models
- Expert problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers, sales teams, utilities, consultants, and senior leadership
- Ability to write reports and articles
- Accuracy, technical rigor, and attention to detail
- Knowledge of business process improvement and project management
- Ability to oversee multiple complex engineering studies and customer engagements
- International and domestic travel up to 30%
