About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications using agile methods
  • Acquire client requirements
  • Resolve workflow problems through automation optimization

  • Lead Apigee Edge to Apigee X migrations, including inventory, dependency mapping, risk/effort sizing, and migration wave planning
  • Support reliable API platform operations through infrastructure automation, dashboards, alerts, and incident response

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidate must be based in either Chicago, IL or Peoria, IL
  • Relocation assistance is not available

  • Knowledge of software integration processes and functions
  • Ability to design, develop, and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and ability to use a structured methodology
  • Knowledge of software product design and ability to convert market requirements into software product design
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of software products and ability to design, configure, and integrate them
  • RESTful API design
  • OpenAPI/Swagger contract-first development
  • API linting/governance, such as Spectral
  • Automated regression/contract testing
  • OWASP API security awareness
  • Ability to design and develop AI agents/copilots and AI-assisted workflows using responsible AI practices
  • Hands-on experience with Apigee Edge and Apigee X
  • Experience leading Edge to X migrations
  • Knowledge of OAuth2/JWT, API keys, rate limiting/quotas, caching, and JavaScript callouts
  • Knowledge of GCP networking, including VPC/subnets, DNS, firewalling, hybrid connectivity, and load balancing/routing
  • Knowledge of GCP IAM/service accounts, TLS/mTLS, certificate rotation, WAF/Cloud Armor
  • Experience with Terraform/IaC, dashboards/alerts, SLOs/SLIs, and incident response
