About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess supplier quality and ensure products comply with manufacturing specifications and legal standards
  • Conduct tests and assessments on incoming supplies to identify quality issues
  • Develop supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms
  • Generate reports on supplier quality by monitoring defect rates and potential flaw areas
  • Guide suppliers in reducing defect rates
  • Research potential vendors and assess their manufacturing environments, practices, and procedures
  • Conduct supplier quality control audits for compliance with organizational and federal policies and standards
  • Support suppliers through process enhancements, process controls, and quality assurance plans
  • Develop quality standards and controls for suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements
  • Build and maintain partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and resolve product quality, support, or pricing problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Ability to assess supplier quality and ensure products are defect-free and compliant with manufacturing specifications and legal standards
  • Knowledge of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
  • Extensive experience with problem-solving approaches, tools, and techniques
  • Extensive experience evaluating and improving processes, products, and services
  • Extensive experience with manufacturing standards, procedures, and policies
  • Extensive experience managing supplier relationships and transactions
  • Extensive experience with supplier evaluations and certification
  • Manufacturing experience, such as running, evaluating, setting up, or troubleshooting machinery, may be advantageous
  • ASQ Certification may be advantageous
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Must work onsite five days a week
  • Must pass a drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
