About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage dealer relationships to grow Electric Power Solutions, focusing on gas generator set products and services
- Identify and develop sales opportunities and recommend customer-focused solutions
- Communicate Caterpillar’s value proposition and position the company as a preferred long-term partner
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans and forecasts for the Western North America territory
- Build customer relationships, expand market presence, and identify new applications, industries, and business opportunities
- Collaborate with dealers and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative power solutions and drive profitable growth and market share
- Assist dealers with forecast, sales/rental/used strategy planning, sales techniques, and new-product rollouts
- Conduct regular sales performance reviews with dealers and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Lead selling-opportunity identification, customer-satisfaction improvement, and business-relationship enhancement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Broad business background combined with strong technical expertise in power generation systems
- Strong knowledge of the Caterpillar Dealer Network
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
- Customer focus and ability to create customized customer solutions
- Knowledge of the electric power industry, trends, regulatory environment, products, and services
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Relationship management skills with clients, vendors, and peers
- Business development knowledge and ability to identify potential markets
- Value-selling knowledge and ability to quantify costs, benefits, and customer value
- Travel of 50–75% is required
- Must work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office
- Visa sponsorship is not offered
- Successful completion of a drug screen required
