About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and oversee employee and visitor access to and from restricted areas
- Verify credentials and enforce access-control protocols
- Prevent prohibited or restricted items from entering or exiting the premises
- Maintain thorough surveillance of the assigned restricted area
- Provide high-quality customer service to employees and visitors
- Maintain vigilance and situational awareness
- Communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and non-verbally
- Work autonomously during designated shifts
- Adapt to changing conditions in fast-paced and slower-paced environments
- Report to the Site Lead
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working in government or military facilities
- Familiarity with government security regulations and access control systems
- Additional certifications in security or related fields
- Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Valid state driver’s license in good standing
- Must pass a background check, with additional checks potentially required
- Completion of the Tailored Adaptive Personality Assessment System (TAPAS)
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking ability
- Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to changing priorities, and learn quickly
- Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to walk 3 to 5 miles per shift
- Ability to stand continuously for up to 60 minutes and for prolonged periods
- Periodic ladder climbing and frequent stairs and ramps
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to push or pull 50–75 lbs. using assistive devices as needed
- Standard near, far, and peripheral visual acuity
- Normal color vision required for electrical tasks
