About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior business process advisor across multiple financial units
- Evaluate existing business processes and recommend operational improvements
- Coordinate financial management activities, including reconciliations, revenue processing reviews, trial balance cleanup, warrant monitoring, receivable analysis, and financial statement monitoring
- Develop, review, maintain, update, and validate process documentation, SOPs, agency policies, desk procedures, workflow diagrams, process maps, and work instructions
- Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Develop and maintain organizational readiness templates, forms, procedures, documentation, training plans, and role-based training outlines
- Coordinate onboarding and monitor required training in the People First LMS
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, action items, and follow-up activities
- Support cutover planning, transition, execution, and system implementation readiness
- Coordinate Chart of Accounts crosswalk updates and payment data/prepayment analysis
- Facilitate communication between business units during implementation
- Assess workload distribution and recommend responsibility reassignments
- Prepare management and executive-level status reports
- Conduct research, analyze data, evaluate alternatives, and prepare recommendations for management decision-making
- Coordinate cross-functional business activities and monitor project deliverables and implementation milestones
- Facilitate issue identification and resolution
- Lead or participate in special projects assigned by management
- Report to the Program Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum seven (7) years of IT experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute for degree requirements
- Minimum four (4) years of experience performing business process analysis, business process reengineering, process improvement, or organizational change initiatives
- Minimum two (2) years of experience performing project management
- Experience working on large, complex enterprise-wide projects requiring coordination across multiple business units and stakeholders
- Experience facilitating process improvement efforts involving multiple departments, agencies, or organizational units
- Experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and operational procedures
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Problem-solving skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: SharePoint experience
- Preferred: Experience with FLAIR, Florida PALM, and State of Florida financial, accounting, budgeting, procurement, or grants management processes
- Preferred: Experience documenting business processes and standard operating procedures
- Preferred: Experience using Visio or comparable software for functional flow charting
- May be asked to work outside normal business hours, on holidays, or on a flexible schedule
