About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and other Azure services
- Ensure high availability and scalability of cloud infrastructure
- Migrate unmanaged Azure resources into source control
- Refactor Infrastructure as Code configurations, emphasizing PowerShell
- Build and optimize automated deployment pipelines and operational workflows
- Analyze Azure vulnerabilities and compliance scan outputs
- Remediate critical and high-priority security findings
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and fine-tune Azure environments for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams
- Share Azure best practices and provide infrastructure optimization guidance
- Configure and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines
- Support streamlined release management processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report to the Program Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-related roles
- Advanced knowledge of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and governance
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, such as PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible
- Experience automating cloud environments and operational workflows
- Demonstrated skill in cloud security remediation, compliance risk management, and governance
- Hands-on expertise using Git-based repositories for version-controlled infrastructure management
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- Must be able to pass a background check and potentially additional project/client background checks
- Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
- Strong understanding of software development best practices
- Ability to recommend and implement software upgrades
- Experience in software maintenance and testing
- Problem-solving and debugging skills
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with modern web development frameworks and libraries
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Knowledge of database management and integration
- Understanding of web security best practices
- Ability to document processes and code for future maintenance and upgrades
- Ability to work on site in Washington, DC
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods
- Ability to use a computer and office productivity tools with sufficient speed
- Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace
- Must be able to sit for long periods while looking at a computer screen
- May be asked to work outside normal business hours and travel for business or professional development
