About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Meet with Government clients to understand business needs and define data engineering and analysis objectives
- Identify data sources and develop robust data integration and processing workflows
- Design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and database structures
- Perform data cleaning, transformation, and exploratory analysis
- Build scalable and reliable data pipelines with data scientists and software engineers
- Develop and maintain models and views for data access, visualization, and analysis
- Optimize data storage, indexing, and query performance
- Present findings and solutions to clients
- Explain complex analytical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Take ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative field, or equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of experience in data engineering, database management, and analytical methodologies
- Experience designing and implementing data processing solutions with relational or unstructured data
- Experience with structured databases and query languages such as PL/SQL, Postgres, or MySQL
- Experience optimizing SQL queries
- Experience with Spark or Hadoop preferred
- Familiarity with SAS, R, or Stata helpful but not required
- Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Must obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must pass a background check
- Strong technical project and teamwork capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to synthesize client and team needs into actionable work products or analytical plans
- Strong client and team interaction skills
- Critical thinking and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work extended periods at a computer and establish a productive professional workspace
- May be required to work outside normal business hours and travel
