About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, configure, and optimize Jira and Jira Service Management platforms across on-premises Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud environments
- Develop and maintain Jira workflows, issue types, schemes, custom fields, permissions, and notifications
- Use ScriptRunner to design advanced validators, conditions, post-functions, automated processes, and administrative scripts
- Configure Jira Service Management service request types, portals, Assets schemas, object types, and service workflows
- Establish and manage SLA tracking and operational workflows
- Design advanced JQL queries for dashboards, reports, filters, and KPIs
- Provide reporting on system operations, SLA achievements, and organizational metrics
- Manage users, permissions, global configurations, platform monitoring, and maintenance activities
- Perform capacity planning and evaluate platform health metrics
- Maintain REST API integrations and troubleshoot JSON-based data structures
- Use SQL databases for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reporting, and data-driven insights
- Generate and manage datasets in accordance with data governance and security policies
- Serve as a subject matter expert by providing support, best practices, documentation, and training
- Collaborate with stakeholders on scalable, maintainable, and sustainable solution designs
- Report to the Program Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
- Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience configuring and administering Jira platforms (Jira DC and Cloud)
- Experience with workflow development, scripting, and automations
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and SQL for system integrations and reporting
- Expertise in Jira Data Center and Cloud operational management
- Advanced workflow customization and engineering
- Experience designing and deploying complex ScriptRunner automation rules
- Jira Assets expertise
- REST API and JSON data modeling proficiency
- JQL proficiency
- SQL/database expertise for Jira Data Center environments
- Permission and security management experience
- Advanced troubleshooting and process design expertise
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
