About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical guidance for information systems operations and network efficiency
  • Design, build, implement, and maintain LAN, MAN, and WAN infrastructures
  • Compile records and reports related to network operations and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Analyze network traffic metrics and provide capacity planning recommendations
  • Monitor and address complex hardware and software issues in technical control facilities
  • Collaborate with vendor support organizations during outages and degraded performance
  • Manage procurement, testing, installation, and support of network communications hardware and software
  • Report to the Program Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in related network functions is preferred
  • CompTIA Security+, or other equivalent certifications
  • Strong understanding of basic networking concepts, protocols, and practices
  • Proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting network performance issues and providing efficient solutions
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and liaise with vendor service groups
  • Knowledge of network hardware/software configurations and capacity planning strategies
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • A Top-Secret Security Clearance is required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, and learn quickly
  • Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to manage high-pressure decision-making and stress during outages and critical deadlines
  • Ability to work onsite in the main office
  • Ability to lift and carry networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move around technical spaces, including bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work extended periods, use computers efficiently, and sit for long periods
  • Compliance with security clearances and monitoring systems
  • May work flexible or non-standard hours
