About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical guidance for information systems operations and network efficiency
- Design, build, implement, and maintain LAN, MAN, and WAN infrastructures
- Compile records and reports related to network operations and maintenance
- Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues, including root cause analysis
- Analyze network traffic metrics and provide capacity planning recommendations
- Monitor and address complex hardware and software issues within technical control facilities
- Collaborate with vendor support organizations during outages or degraded performance
- Manage procurement, testing, installation, and support of network communications hardware and software
- Report to the Program Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of experience in related network functions is preferred
- Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certification preferred
- CompTIA Security+, or other equivalent certifications
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts, protocols, and practices
- Proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting network performance issues
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams and liaise with vendor service groups
- Knowledge of network hardware/software configurations and capacity planning strategies
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- A Top-Secret Security Clearance is required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to lift and carry computer or networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work onsite in the main office
- Ability to work in high-security areas under strict access controls
- Compliance with security clearances and monitoring systems is mandatory
