About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical direction, engineering expertise, and support across voice and data communications domains.
  • Assist in planning, designing, and developing large-scale voice and data communications networks.
  • Participate in installation and deployment of voice/data communication systems.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of communication network components.
  • Support maintenance and repair of network infrastructure.
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, network configurations, and system procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to implement communication solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Apply engineering knowledge while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Report to the Program Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in voice/data communications engineering is preferred but not required for candidates with certifications and strong technical aptitude.
  • One mandatory certification: BICSI Installer 1, Avaya Certified, or Nortel Certified.
  • Top-Secret Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check; additional background checks may be required by projects or clients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Foundational understanding of voice and data communication technologies, protocols, and standards, including VoIP, TCP/IP, and SIP.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with network and telecommunication tools and diagnostic utilities.
  • Ability to work onsite in the main office.
  • Ability to perform duties for extended periods, use computers, sit for long periods, and potentially lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • May be asked to work flexible schedules, outside normal business hours, and travel for business or professional development.
