About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical guidance and monitor information systems operations
  • Design, build, integrate, and implement advanced LAN, MAN, and WAN network systems
  • Compile records and reports related to network operations and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot complex network performance issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Analyze network traffic patterns and develop capacity planning strategies
  • Monitor and respond to hardware and software issues in technical control facilities
  • Collaborate with vendor support teams to resolve network outages and degraded performance
  • Manage procurement, setup, testing, installation, and support across networking communications system lifecycles
  • Perform system-level design and configuration, including hardware, operating system, and platform specifications
  • Plan and oversee large-scale network systems projects, vendor comparisons, cost analyses, and performance evaluations
  • Lead systems engineering tasks involving design, integration, personnel coordination, and implementation
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of new and existing software products
  • Report to the Program Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 3 years in network-related roles that include systems design, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required
  • CompTIA Network+ certification
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) certification
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, technologies, routing, switching, wireless, and advanced network architectures
  • Proficient in network traffic analysis, capacity planning methodologies, and troubleshooting tools
  • Expertise in system-level design and configuration, including hardware and software platform selection
  • Experience planning and managing large-scale systems projects, vendor comparisons, cost studies, and performance metrics
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering practices, including design, integration, implementation, and personnel/resource coordination
  • Skilled in quality assurance reviews and software product performance evaluation
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex network challenges and across multifunctional teams and vendors
  • Top-Secret Security Clearance required
  • Must be able to pass a background check and additional project/client background checks if required
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently and on multifunctional teams
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to make high-pressure decisions during network outages and critical project deadlines
  • Ability to lift and carry networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in high-security areas under strict access controls
  • Compliance with security clearances and monitoring systems is mandatory
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, holidays, and hours outside normal business hours when needed
