About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate day-to-day accounting operations and promote readiness for system transitions
- Provide implementation and operational support for financial accounting processes
- Conduct trial balance monitoring and reconciliation between FLAIR and Florida PALM systems
- Review batch uploads and support reconciliation and financial reporting
- Maintain Due To/Due From workbooks, general ledgers, and division receivable analyses
- Assist with revenue and receipt entries and financial statement preparation
- Research vendor invoice statements, process approvals, and analyze outstanding checks
- Coordinate voucher processing and support audits for payment accuracy
- Prepare daily operational and cash needs reports and Outstanding Warrant reports
- Resolve deposit issues, maintain logs, and update Revenue Source Code data
- Support enhancements such as the Cashier's Office Deposit Automation system
- Monitor mailboxes to ensure timely responses and resolutions
- Conduct program audits and monitor compliance with guidelines
- Assist with assigned projects and improve program operations
- Organize meetings, manage agendas, and track assignments and completion statuses
- Maintain documentation, monitor training progress, and support team onboarding
- Prepare reconciliation, operational, workload, and status reports
- Maintain logs tracking progress on program milestones and tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum three (3) years of information technology experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute for degree requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience performing business analysis, requirements gathering, business process analysis, or systems analysis
- Experience eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business requirements
- Experience developing business, functional, or technical documentation
- Experience contributing as a member of a project team supporting business or IT initiatives
- Experience facilitating meetings, workshops, interviews, or discussions with business stakeholders
- Must be able to pass a background check; additional checks may be required
- Problem-solving skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: Experience working for the state or similar government entities
- Preferred: Knowledge of FLAIR and the Florida PALM project
- Preferred: Understanding of finance and accounting concepts
- Preferred: Hands-on SharePoint experience
- Preferred: Proficiency with Visio
- Preferred: Experience engaging business teams to collect and clarify customer requirements
- Preferred: Expertise documenting business processes, workflows, and business rules
- Preferred: Experience preparing status updates, meeting minutes, workload reports, and project documentation
- Preferred: Ability to work under general direction from senior-level management
