About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable, and efficient Azure compute, networking, and storage infrastructure
  • Integrate unauthorized Azure resources into source control and refactor IaC repositories
  • Develop PowerShell scripts and advanced automation solutions
  • Automate deployments, operational workflows, and infrastructure using ARM, Terraform, Ansible, and scripting
  • Analyze Azure scan findings and remediate critical and high-priority security and compliance issues
  • Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize performance and costs
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams
  • Provide expert guidance on Azure resource optimization, best practices, and governance
  • Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines across development and production environments
  • Report to the Program Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 8 years of expertise in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles
  • Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Azure services
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code tools, including PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible
  • Expertise in cloud security remediation, compliance frameworks, and governance
  • Advanced scripting capabilities for automation and debugging
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
  • Understanding of software development best practices
  • Ability to recommend and implement software upgrades
  • Experience in software maintenance and testing
  • Familiarity with modern web development frameworks and libraries
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Knowledge of database management and integration
  • Understanding of web security best practices
  • Ability to document processes and code
  • Preferred: AWS or additional Azure certifications
  • Preferred: Experience with hybrid cloud platforms and containers such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Preferred: Advanced understanding of GitLab CI/CD
  • Preferred: Expertise in advanced cloud networking concepts
  • Ability to work on site in Washington, DC
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including outside normal business hours
  • May be required to travel for business or professional development
