About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide senior-level technical guidance and supervision for information systems operations
- Design, build, and implement LAN, MAN, and WAN network infrastructures
- Compile, analyze, and manage network operation and maintenance records and reports
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network performance issues
- Plan and execute large-scale systems projects, including vendor evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, and system integration
- Analyze network traffic data for capacity planning, performance enhancement, and scalability
- Oversee technical control facility activities to maintain hardware, software, and network performance
- Lead procurement, testing, installation, and ongoing support of networking and communications systems
- Supervise multi-functional teams in network operations, systems security, system software support, and production support
- Perform system-level design and configuration for hardware, operating systems, and platforms
- Conduct quality assurance and evaluate new and existing software products
- Oversee LAN/MAN/WAN administration, systems programming, system security policy implementation, and web strategy support
- Monitor and test network facilities and equipment to ensure continuity of network operations
- Provide input on standards, operational requirements, and budget constraints
- Report to the Program Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 7 years in network engineering, systems design, operations management, and team leadership in large-scale networking environments
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP)
- CompTIA Security+
- Expertise in advanced network engineering principles, including routing, switching, security, and system architecture
- In-depth knowledge of network operations and systems engineering practices, including systems integration and multi-platform environments
- Ability to supervise multi-functional technical teams and manage multiple, large-scale projects under tight deadlines
- Experience developing and implementing system security policies, operations support, and administration
- Skills in policy formulation, resource allocation, and resolution of budgetary issues
- Proficiency in capacity planning, network traffic analysis, and resolving complex system-wide network issues
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Familiarity with network diagnostics and testing tools
- Top-Secret Security Clearance required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to change, and learn quickly
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and on a multi-functional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to make high-pressure decisions during network outages and critical project deadlines
- Ability to lift and carry networking equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in high-security areas under strict access controls
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and outside normal business hours when required
